Bought a 52” Samsung LCD (1080p) in May. Awesome TV with an amazing picture. My friends and family continue to comment on the amazing quality of the picture every time they are at my house. The movies on the HD movie channels and also on In-Demand and Blu-Ray look almost like 3-D. One of the best purchases I have made in a while.

I would also suggest doing what I did and buy it online. I did some research, went to the local retailers to look at the TV in person and then bought it from an outfit called Vanns.com. Saved almost $600 by the time you figure in what it cost in the local retail outlets I looked at along with the sales tax and delivery fee. Vanns covered the cost of the delivery and even dealt with me on some HDMI and other cabling that I needed (I purchased an amp, center channel speaker and subwoofer at the same time I bought the TV) since my order was about $4k. I figured that I saved about $800 total by purchasing online. Had to take the day off of work to meet the Fed Ex guy but that was no big deal. I hooked it all up myself and it worked on the first try.

And that's the next thing to confuse the subject: 3D HDTVs will arrive not long from now.
