I believe we can make a difference - make a list of ALL new representatives who are conservative or are a much better alternative than the current Rep - find out their campaign websites and send money like $10 for Tarkanian...He’s running against Harry Reid - we need to throw Harry out and money is key in a big race and in 2010 every race NEEDs to be a BIG race. I’m not for sending to the RNC because they tend to back RINOs, so make your lists, hopefully FreeRepublic will have a 2010 senate and house race list we can get updates on and MAKE A DIFFERENCE in 2010. Prayer is most effective though (James 5 - new testament)

I don’t have much confidence left in the voting process. So “throwing the bums out” that way isn’t the way i’d do it.

But i do believe in prayer and thank you for that but there was no need to tell me that James is part of the New Testament.

Yours is a Dagney Taggart solution. I’ve gone Galt.

Two of my favorite quotes:

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.” — opening lines of 101 Things To Do ‘Til The Revolution by Claire Wolfe

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.” - Thomas Jefferson

My solution is:
Buy acreage in central rural Kentucky from which I can be fully self sufficient, ideally surrounded by similarly outfitted neighbors. DONE!
Reduce my economic footprint. This means buying absolutely as little as possible from “stores”. I use craigslist and garage sales as much as possible. I even moved from a five bedroom home in an upscale neighborhood to a one bedroom condo across the street from the corporate headquarters in Seattle where I work, just this month. DONE!

Purchased one “short barrel” shotgun for defense and some hunting. DONE.

Bought lots of extra ammo for my SKS for more long range defense and hunting. DONE.

High power rifle with scope. NOT DONE!

Plenty of alternative power and transportation options. Being a bicycle commuter and owning several bikes for me and my wife makes this one already covered. DONE!

I hope it doesn’t come down to this, but I feel a little bit like a Pole in the Summer of 1939 watching Hitler and Germany’s antics. I think this is going to be VERY bad. For the US, at least, I think it will be worse and much more personal than WWII.

I’ve ramped up my rhetoric since 2005 when I started talking about this...

I wonder if those of us who agree with this post shouldn't forget contributing to the candidate of our choice next year and send that money to a person or organization that will specialize in getting those in office now OUT of office!

We've been doing it the other way, supporting our choice of candidates, and we see where it's gotten us.

Somehow we've to get the names of the name of the incumbent in every race etched into the minds of voters together with the tag that this person is to be voted against, period.

Do enough of this and those challenging the current office holder won't need anywhere nearly as much money to campaign.

I see a series of billboards all across the country that say, “So-and-So, You're Fired!” Fill in the name of the current office holder. Same with print ads and broadcast ads. The pitch should be “this time it's not who gets your vote, but who doesn't get it!”

This would be one way to turn the name recognition of some of these crooks who get elected time after time against them.

Who knows, maybe it's time to try something else.
