Barry was arrogant and naive to get involved in this in the first place. It wasn't that long ago the U.S. hosted a summer Olympics. IIRC, the Summer games have never been held in the Southern Hemisphere outside the British Commonwealth, certainly never in South America. Rio is a beautiful and sophisticated city (OK, it has some rough areas just like any city). This really isn't unexpected, unless you have an ego the size of Barry's.
