Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid's imminent demise notwithstanding, perhaps the most scrumptious victory Republicans have a more than good chance of having will be the defeat of Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut, a man whose fifteen minutes are finally up.

Dodd needs to be at the bottom of a tall cliff. With overhangs if possible.
Dodd will be spreading earmarks and free money around like cake frosting in the coming months.

I heard he was going to run as a Republican.
I know a CT GOP insider. He is not comfortable with GOP prospects against Dodd. The main reason is that Dodd is very well funded and will bombard Connecticut with advertising. The National DNC party will not let Dodd lose either, so he will have the full backing of the party machine.
My thought is that the main GOP challenger, Rob Simmons, is not that exciting. While not quite an Snowe/Collins-level RINO, he is nevertheless a RINO.
Peter Schiff is libertarian-leaning and is a close second to Simmons in the polls. There is good reason to get excited about Schiff’s fiscal conservatism. He is also a wealthy man and intends to spend up to $25M of his own money to beat Dodd.
Fortunately, Connecticut is a show-ID to vote state, so ACORN-type tactics will be less effective than elsewhere.

Peter Schiff is running. Fiscal conservative libertarian-republican who is vocally opposed to Obama’s policies.
Probably closest to Ron Paul. Don’t know how nutty Schiff is, but he comes across as a fighter.
Well I hope he can pull it off. Just don’t see Conn producing anything but country clubber me too candidates.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. The brewing ACORN scandal highlights highlights your point in spades. Democrats and the MSM played down the voter fraud by ACORN and the integrity of electoral system is many fold more fundamental to our liberty than providing advice to prostitutes and pimps.
