A white Philadelphia police officer who came to work with his hair in cornrows was ordered by a superior to get a haircut, even though black colleagues wear the same type of braids. The Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday that Officer Thomas Strain was put on desk duty earlier this month because of the hairstyle.
A police spokesman, Lt. Frank Vanore, said Strain's boss didn't feel the braids were "professional."

While young, grow your hair anyway ya want. You might not have any left when you get older.

I was in Philly last week. They’ve got bigger problems than this.

Buzz is good. Wash & wear, no care hair. Plus, it makes a growing forehead less noticeable.

The amount of constant tension put on the hair by cornrows could well make him start to lose it before his time. It looks like he’s already starting to get a receding hairline.

Beside, we are not told his duties. Is he in a patrol car on a beat or undercover?
Either way a double standard is bad news for any department.

For some reason I expected him to a blond. The only white I've seen with cornrows is Bo of "10".
When this dude unbraids his rows, he can then come into work wearing an afro. LOL
I find his hairstyle cool and neat. It suits him. Now, let's discuss his earring. Is it a diamond?

Whites look just as stupid as blacks with a cornhole hairdo. Make ‘em all look like adults on duty. I see a cop with cornholes and I’m going to be thinking he’s a thug impersonating an officer.
