SAN FRANCISCO Wah Cheong, a lifelong Republican and the soon-to-be divorced father of two teenage boys, sometimes surprises his co-workers and neighbors in a relatively conservative community outside San Francisco when he says he supports same-sex marriage. "Here is my situation," the 47-year-old chemical engineer tells them when the hot-button topic comes up. "If gays and lesbians were more accepted, I wouldn't have married a closeted lesbian."

Hello,girlfriend!!
Who can argue with airtight logic like that?
So you're bitter about how your marriage turned out so you want to blow up the institution? Try to think beyond your own personal situation chief.
Dude, I can't help it if you turned the poor girl gay.
:::rolls eyes:::
Ariana Huffington feels the same way.
What about her? She didn’t have to say “Yes”.
Dude, what you married was a lying lesbian.
Sucks to be you, Mr. Cheong.
Asian Chemical Engineer= Dilbert with out social skills.
He’s basically right, and I agree with him. Sexuality is not a choice, it’s programmed, and it’s stupid to pretend A. that people can change, and B. that people born that way are not entitled to have society legally recognize their long term committed relationships.
"If [bank robberies] were more accepted, I wouldn't have married a closeted [bank robber]."
"If [heroin] were more accepted, I wouldn't have married a closeted [heroin addict]."
I'm sorry, it takes one male and one female to produce kids; reality hurts. As for self esteem, the following is the cost of making homosexuals feel better about themselves:
63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (Source: U.S. D.H.H.S., Bureau of the Census)
90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes (Source: Center for Disease Control)
80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes (Source: Criminal Justice & Behavior, Vol. 14, p. 403-26, 1978.)
71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes (Source: National Principals Association Report on the State of High Schools.)
75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes (Source: Rainbows for all God`s Children.)
70% of juveniles in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes (Source: U.S. Dept. of Justice, Special Report, Sept 1988)
85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home (Source: Fulton Co. Georgia jail populations, Texas Dept. of Corrections 1992)
Dude, what you married was a lying lesbian.
sorry for the double post.
Sexuality is not nearly as rigid and unchangeable as people make it out to be. And any one can define the terms of their commitment with a written contract, which then society is bound to recognize.
Are you from NAMBLA?
I'm not buying that. If it is programmed in, she knew about it and she lied.
Obviously, homosexuality has been around for long enough for there to be biblical references to it, just as there are to lying.
If the behaviour pattern survives in spite of not being completely socially accepted, it will continue to do so, without the invasion of the sacrament of matrimony.
All else is mere legality, and powers of attorney, joint ownership, even dependency status can be arranged by legal means without marriage.
“sorry honey, turns out I’m gay... you cant blame me for taking half the stuff and leaving.”
“no one’s to blame, it just happended”
another milestone in responcibility free living.
