Always carry cougar repellent! In sets of at least 6 doses, preferably to be applied within about 5 seconds of need. Doses also available in handy 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18-packs (among others), packaged for easy transportation, use and application!

Bear spray would also do the trick. One would think being Canadian and all, they would walk in the woods prepared for predators.

Most hikers I've met along mountain trails pack a weapon (or some form of personal protection) - just in case.
