You teach the kid with the hope that he can know algebra.

If you knew the kid was incapable of learning algebra, with a 100% certainty, would you still persist?

For the sake of fairness, of being able to tell him at the end of the course that all had been tried, yes.

Or rather no, because I'm lazy and quick to give up on people. God is not lazy and never gives up until the end of their lives.
