Why oh why is Ted Kennedy, someone who committed treason against this country by dealing with our mortal enemies the Soviets, being buried in the sacred ground of Arlington National Cemetery??? As an American Patriot I am completely disgusted and outraged by this travesty...this desecration of the resting place of so many of America's true heroes.

Teddy’s military service only gave him the right to have his ashes interred at Arlington. Any former or current Senator can be laid to rest there though....that’s what gets Teddy in.

The sad fact is that John Kerry (who served in Vietnam) is a bigger traitor to this country and will more than likely be buried there also.Protesting while the dirt covers him, we can hope.

I read that if he was awarded the highest US Civilian Medal allowed, then that person can also be buried in Arlington. President Bush (43) did award him such a medal. I served 23 years on active duty and I am NOT eligible to be buried there though.Which medal did President Bush award Kennedy? President Obama awarded, in absentia, Senator Kennedy the Medal of Freedom earlier this month.

No, Arlington is not restricted to just KIAs. Senators, Ambassadors and other VIPs can be buried there.

I would really like to know how this could happen... Well for one thing because he's dead. If he was alive it wouldn't be an issue. For another both his brothers are buried there and they're going to plant Teddy next to them. So it isn't like he's taking a plot from someone else or something.
To: Non-Sequitur
He's still filthifying the whole place.
Now if they'd put him over the eternal flame that would be appropriate.

"In the past few years, Arlington Cemetery has become a private cemetery for the Kennedy clan. For example, there is no reason, ever, for Jackie to have been buried there." The rules allow the spouses of vets to be buried in Arlington. And sometimes even the children of vets. Even spouses that have remarried, like Jackie O. Many wives are buried in Arlington next to their husbands. Just check out the Supreme Court justices that are buried there ... like Rehnquist. Sometimes the spouse is buried there first.

He went in at the lowest rank and stayed at that rank until he was discharged. He left the military as an E-3, not an E-1.

Probably safer to light him up from a distance with flare guns. That alcohol sodden corpse is probably explosive.

Well that proves one thing, he was dumber than Al Gore who made e-5 in 11 months and got out early to become a minister. Politically connected? Nahhhhhh. Al Gore was never a minister and he did not make E-5 in 11 months, if he ever did.
Gore studied at Divinity school for a very short time but probably not to become a preacher and he was an E-4 at least until near the end of his enlistment.

Are you sure? Perhaps we should poke it with a stick to make certain...

Edward Kennedy was a despicable man. His dying doesn’t change that fact.
