Just over 200 days into the Obama Administration and boy was I wrong. I guess I owe all of you an apology. I really missed the mark on this guy and feel terrible about it. In an effort to show just how wrong I was, lets take a look at some of the highlights of his short Presidency.
First and foremost, he took $800 billion of tax-payer money that the government didn't have and, in the name of economic stimulus, gave it away to radical left-wing groups, unions and ill-conceived municipal projects that included repaving airport runways that are rarely used, creating underground eco-passages for road crossing animals and building safety guard rails around lakes that don't have water in them. The jobs that President Obama promised from this spending are either temporary or haven't offset the massive job losses throughout the economy. The official Unemployment Rate sat at 9.4% in July while the Bureau of Labor Statistics believes that the actual unemployment rate is 16.4% when you consider those that want to work full-time but can't.
He initiated the government take over of General Motors, gave preferred debt-holders the finger and gave the unions, who are responsible for the bankruptcy in the first place, 51% ownership. This guarantees that these companies will never be profitable. He hired a new CEO of General Motors, Edward Whitacre, who promptly said: I dont know anything about cars. A business is a business. I can learn about cars. Mr. Whitacre should spend some time learning about the unions and how their contracts killed the American automobile industry.
He watched the citizens of Iran get brutalized for rebelling against a corrupt, dictatorial regime and said nothing but then admonished the congress and military of Honduras for forcibly removing a would-be dictator who refused to leave office. He then had a chummy meeting with evil, Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez who represses freedom in his own country and funds Marxist terrorists throughout the world. These are just a few instances where Obama had opportunities to take clear moral stands against totalitarianism and be the voice of freedom. Sadly, he was either too weak-willed or uninterested to do so.
He has appointed an entire of army of Czars that wield real power outside of Congressional oversight. These Czars and their radical agendas are funded by the Stimulus money. The real role of these Czars is to create a stealth power base accountable only to the White House that will execute his radical agenda without the need for Congressional approval. If you dont think this is scary, just ask Democrat Senator Robert Byrd. He sent a letter to the White House voicing concern over this shadow government. It read: as presidential assistants and advisers, these White House staffers are not accountable for their actions to the Congress, to cabinet officials, and to virtually anyone but the president. They rarely testify before congressional committees, and often shield the information and decision-making process behind the assertion of executive privilege. All you have to do is to look at the background of these Czars to see that they are extreme radicals like John Holdren, our new Science Czar. Holdren co-authored a book in 1977 entitled: Eco-Science. The book advocates: forced abortions, sterilizing the American population by putting fertility drugs in our drinking supply, forcibly re-distributing babies from single mothers and teens to other households, and creating a trans-national Planetary Regime that will assume control of the world economy and dictate the most intimate details of American lives. Holdren is just one of these radical Czars getting funds and a mandate from the White House.
He pushed a Cap and Trade Bill through the House that will, in his own words: cause electricity rates to necessarily sky-rocket and bankrupt the coal industry. This bill is based on corrupt science, amounts to the largest tax increase in the history of the world and will almost certainly transform America into a 3rd rate economic power.
His Afghanistan strategy is a complete failure. The British are openly questioning it and their media is calling Barack: President Pantywaist. I cant blame them with quotes like this: I am always worried about using the word: victory. It must be so comforting for our Soldiers on the ground to know that their Commander-in-Chief isnt comfortable saying that victory is a goal in Afghanistan. God Bless them.
He has put our National Security at risk by cozying up to dictatorial regimes, scrapping key anti-terrorism programs and attacking the CIA for using harsh interrogation techniques that kept us safe for over 8 years. While America is distracted with economic problems, our vicious enemies around the world are plotting to kill us. President Bush made National Security his number one priority. President Obama hardly has time for it. As we saw with 9-11, there is a price to pay for this indifference.
Despite the fact that Government run health care has failed in every country that has instituted it and that America has the best health care system in the world, he is pushing a Government run health care system on all of us. The Democrats that support the bill admitted that they didnt read it and wouldnt understand it if they did. He has held staged town hall events to promote it. He has ordered his minions in the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and ACORN to intimidate, threaten and in some case physically attack law-abiding, Constitution-loving Americans who stand up and dissent. He has asked Americans to turn in their neighbors and relatives so they can be intimidated and coerced into agreeing. He has sent unsolicited emails to American citizens whose names have been forwarded to the White House. It's hard to believe this is happening here in America.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, his 10 Year deficit projection now stands at $9 trillion. President Bush left Obama with a $1.2 trillion deficit and the Democrats complained about it. To put this staggering $9 trillion number in perspective: 1 trillion seconds ago, no one on this planet could read or write, neither the Roman Empire or Chinese dynasties had yet come into existence and none of the founders of the world's major religions had yet been born. Of course, we're not talking about seconds here, were talking about dollars. We will all suffer the consequences of this irresponsible spending.
Yes Siree, a busy 200 days, indeed. As you can see, I was wrong about Barack Obama. He is much, much worse than I ever thought he would be.
And he’s nowhere near done either.
You’ll never see a summary like this in our crummy, biased, and dishonest national news media.
Why I voted Democrat...
I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want.
I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I voted Democrat because When we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they are doing because they now think we are good people.
I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I voted Democrat because I think ILLEGAL aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.
I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.
I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
I voted Democrat because My head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely I'll ever have another point of view.
Very well put.
Add one:
I voted democrat because the GOP got took over by “pod people”, and even though Democrats ain’t always the sharpest tools in the shed, at least they are from this planet.
parsy, who switched to the Democrats but hasn’t actually voted for any of the bad ones.(Like Obama, Kerry)
Good job. I predict incoming flame from those that assume your mea culpa is for supporting Obama. Hopefully, they’ll read the last line.
I am well known for my dire warnings before the election and my constant criticism since.
Hopefully, I’ll lure a few of them in with the Mea Culpa and then hit them hard with the facts.
Keep that file active. By the time this dude is done with his destructive policies, you will have more than enough material to publish a nice book.
Well done, sir.
Good Job, Fishface! BTW, I live in a neighboring town.
