Following the departures of Talk Radio Network syndicated hosts Laura Ingraham, Michael Savage & Jerry Doyle, Mount Wilson FM-owned KGIL-AM (1260) has a new-look talk lineup. The syndicated Glenn Beck now moves into morning drive from 6am-9am, followed by Fred Thompson from 9am-11am. For now, KGIL will re-broadcast Thompsons show from 11am-1pm, In the afternoon, its the syndicated Dr. Dean Edell and Larry King for one hour apiece, and Lars Larson from 3pm-5pm. KGIL will play music from 5pm to midnight. Ingraham will move to CBS-owned KFWB-AM (980). Both Doyle and Savage are currently off Los Angeles radio for now.
KGIL sounds like a dying station
Is Dr. Laura leaving KFI?
I wonder where John Ziegler is gonna go, since he’s the 11-1 guy on KGIL...
Yes and she will be on KFWB starting 9/8

>>What a week it was in radio. KFI/640 AM lived up to its motto of “more stimulating talk radio” by dropping Laura Schlessinger and creating an opening for a new Bill Handel show. And on the same day Aug. 10 KFWB/980 AM gave us more than 22 minutes with its news it would go to a news-talk format talk Sept. 8 and pick up Dr. Laura for noon to 3 p.m.
(Handel’s show will start at noon, and:
>>In addition to Handel, John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou will add one hour, starting at 2 p.m. KFI program director Robin Bertolucci said, “Handel and John and Ken are ratings machines. They’re smart, informative and irreverent. They both personify ‘more stimulating talk radio.’ Both of these shows are wildly successful and we know that they will provide more of what people want from KFI.”

Thanks for the info, more evidence that Savage's good days on radio may be coming to an end. No longer in L.A.? Unheard of.
That sucks.
She’s competing with Prager. But so is Rush. Talk radio’s “big tent”.
Pessimism? Have you heard defeatist Savage lately? All but throwing the 'Nation' to the wolves, is that how a modern day Paul Revere should act?
L.A is a vaunted radio ratings market, all top tier radio hosts are and should be on in L.A., how can Savage not be?
Savage has committed himself to leaving the air and says he's all but done with radio, I see nothing to be optimistic about with that declaration, why should a market want to keep the Savage Nation on in its area if Savage will be quitting the business as soon as the UK ban is lifted?
I was shocked this a.m., no Laura and no explanation on their site. Also, Monica Crowley is gone. The only good one remaining on KGIL, in my view, is Lars Larson. I was so excited when this station appeared, with a rockin’ lineup. It’s over in less than a year. Short life-span.
Wow! Who’s going to do mornings at KFI?
I do think Dr. Laura is frustrating to listen to. If she’s got a decent caller, then she herself is rude. Or else she is making sense and she’s got a lowlife on the line who will NEVER do what Laura says. You really have to be in the mood to hear other people’s troubles, and frankly in this economy, don’t we all have enough of our own?
Also, her top-of-the-hour commentary is so obviously READ from a sheet of paper. After all these years, she can’t make it SOUND like it’s coming from her brain instead of noted down word for word?? And very often she doesn’t know enough about what she is commenting on. I do love her support of stay-at-home moms, though!
I tuned in too early today, should have waited....
Crowley stopped doing her show nationwide.
