Trinkets that stick it to Obama start to sell

In the political paraphernalia department, "Yes, we can" is becoming "No, he can't." Anti-Obama memorabilia -- from T-shirts to bumper stickers to buttons -- is increasingly emerging in the marketplace as the president's economic and health care policies polarize supporters and detractors. While "Mama for Obama" was a popular slogan during the 2008 election cycle, that design has been retooled with angry and fickle disenchantment: "To the Mama for Obama -- thanks for the tax hike." The "Audacity of Hope," the title of Mr. Obama's popular book, has been replaced by the "Audacity of Hype."

Quick question to all...
Has anyone yet seen a piece of American currency with Timothy Geithner’s signature on it?

I’ve been watching and 8 months into this administration, I have not seen a single bill with the new Treasury Secretary’s name on it. In fact all of the bills that have been passing through my hands have been looking like they should have been pulled from circulation ages ago.

Earlier this year there were people selling ‘TAX CHEAT’ stamps to use on the bills that get issued with Geithner’s signature on them. Are they trying to save the taxpayers some money by leaving bills in circulation longer or do they just not want to issue new ones because of the PR nightmare of having every American handling money on a daily basis with ‘TAX CHEAT’ stamped all over it?

LOL!!!

I have not heard that before. What a riot. In fact, a very good idea, Tax Cheat indeed.

Serves them right.

Yeah. My friend and I got the “tax cheat” rubber stamps online — Hot Air, I think — but haven’t been able to use them yet. Bummer!

You still deal with government script? Time to get liquid in food and semi-precious metals (lead, copper) and short government script. Starve the beast.

The key phrase was “passing through my hands”. You left guns and ammo off of your list. They should be right after ‘food.’

So you’ve been watching too and haven’t seen any? I wonder how long the average time is between when there is a new Treasury Secretary and bills with their name on them start showing up.

‘Has anyone yet seen a piece of American currency with Timothy Geithner’s signature on it?’

It’s on the new three-dollar bill.

Don't know about you, but I buy my copper and lead in small, compact units that are easy to exchange and usually tied to brass. 7.62x39 is a favorite, as is .22LR.

In years past, the new tres sec bills show up pretty quick. Maybe timmy’s name isn’t on any of the bills because he isn’t really the tres sec like barry isn’t really the president. Just a thought.

Here’s the direct link for all of the anti-Obama products at Cafe Press:

Love the ‘Obama Wreckovery’ t-shirt chart.

I’m shocked that the libs haven’t started a boycott campaign of this company or started filing lawsuits because their feelings get hurt when they see this stuff.

“In years past, the new tres sec bills show up pretty quick.”

That was my recollection also, which is why it seems rather intentional that we are not seeing bills with his name stamp on them. With all the new trillions that the government is adding to the money supply, you’d think we would be seeing a few new bills that weren’t dated 2008 and earlier.

Or even his name attatched to anything else of note? As I recall, and there's naught faulty with my memory, thank you kindly, we were told, in no uncertain terms that we had to overlook Mr Geithner's propensity to dodge his taxes since he was "the only one able to fix the economy". I have yet, 8 months later, to see him do anything at all.

"The audacity of hype," indeed (and I was using that term to describe the current occupant of 1600 Penn Ave during the campaign...)
