Nap time today-about 3:21 pm:
Scene was an old-style Western that as a dreamer I came upon to witness. A man with a cloak was beating up on an elderly woman. At first he just punching her body, then he starting kicking her body and she crumpled to the ground. She didn't make much sound. She was gone, or near gone, but on he went. Now kicking her in the head. Then, to my shock he brought out a whip he had hidden in his cloak and started using that.
There was another person witnessing the activities--This gentleman was standing there looking toward the woman on the ground and the creep in the cloak, not really wanting to get involved, but he couldn't take it anymore. His face was dripping perspiration. I could almost touch the drops of sweat. He raised a large western style weapon, like a Colt, hand-gun type. (you know, he could hold it in one hand, but it had a longish barrel. Black, not silver).
He was afraid to interfere, but decided he that he'd had enough. Just as he was raising the gun to destroy the tormentor...someone stabbed him in the back, someone he trusted, but also didn't know was there. Down he went.
And I awoke.

That's it. Any ideas?

It was quiche and it had no peppers. LOL (I had, however, been listening to the radio)
C’mon, be sort of serious.
Simple. You haven’t gotten over your ex.
Not until just now. How awful! Are you okay?
Ex? 28th anniversary is this Saturday.
Precisely! Thanks.
Your body is either protesting or craving a KFC Bowl with Mountain Dew.

It was Snidely Whiplash, of course, and you were in the middle of a Dudley DoRight episode.
The Inspector’s daughter Nell was the one who stabbed you in the back.
It’s not that complex. We’ve been told the West was wild and lawless [it wasn’t, really] so the western setting indicates a perceived breakdown of law and order. The attacker represents Obama, I’m guessing, (or some amalgam of Obama cohorts—such as Rahm and Ezekiel Emanuel) and the way his healthcare plan will hit old folks hardest. The man with the gun (a salt-of-the-earth conservative) doesn’t want to turn vigilante but finally feels forced into it. But of course we all fear the current administration will stab gun owners and gun rights in the back. 3.5 years of Freudian therapy says this is at least a close interpretation, anyway. Fwiw.
The fear of getting involved in a obvious injustice creates a conflict for the witness. The fear is realized when he is in turn assaulted by unseen forces, when he decides to finally act. This could be a metaphor for either a personal or a political crisis for the dreamer. I am sorry if that interpretation is pretty lame, but it’s the best that I could come up with.
“Cmon, be sort of serious.”
A phrase never spoken to me by anyone who knows me.
Thank you.
Only difference I came up with was the backstabber: It wasn’t someone DIStrusted it was someone trusted and they didn’t want the woman, or her type, being protected.
LOL Okay, sorry, don’t be serious at all.
LOL Obama lied grandma died.
Unless we stop the insanity.
Congratulations! My wife and I just had our 17th. It’s been pure, unmitigated hell, but we are both hoping to outlive the other! The odds are on her side.
Maybe the backstabber represents the RINOs, or perhaps simply the spinelessness of the GOP in protecting (or even trying to protect) those who are now at the mercy of the Dems?
That works.
