Is there anyway of blocking these roll over ads in Firefox other than not moving your mouse over them?

I am logged in and have been stunned by these....

They are irritating.
There used to be some little programs that would turn off Flash. IIRC, they were called Flash pop-up stoppers.

Do you have a link to a page which does it? Seeing how it is done is the first step to finding countermeasures.

There used to be some little programs that would turn off Flash. I have one of those in Firefox. 99% of the Flash content is just ads, and I can easily click on the other 1% to load and start it.

I especially hate the ones that play a cartoon thing in the center of the screen.

I use a combination of firefox addons NoScript and AdBlockplus.
NoScript allows blocking of javascript on websites. It can be annoying at first, since you willl have to manually allow javascript on safe sites, but it will get rid of a lot of annoyances including interstitial ads and most flash ads. It also helps prevent malware from getting on your system.
AdBlockPlus shuts off almost all web advertising. You will find a lot of blank space where the ads were, but it can really speed up browsing.

Not specific to any browser, admuncher takes care of all of it without any additional work.
The firefox add-ons work certainly but I’ve been using admuncher now for 5 years. It doesn’t break each version upgrade of the browser.

Thanks for the link, I just a nifty Telescope for only $3995.00! LOL
I don’t think it’s Flash, my 64 bit Minefield browser doesn’t have nor support Flash...yet, and it still came up.
I’m going to install the ad block add on and see.

Yes, Ad Block works. Ad Block 0.65 on Mozilla Minefield 64 bit.

I never get them. Set your Security to High. Set your Privacy to Medium-High. Set your Pop-Up Blocker to Medium. You’ll never get another moving ad, popup, or rollover ad ever again. You can also uncheck “Show Pictures” if you don’t want to even SEE the ads (or any other images) at all.
