I experienced today yet one of the 239334348239 ways that conservatives are more open minded than the supposedly open minded left.
She knows I have a problem with PETA and asks me if I knew one of the 2 stars is a member and active in animal rights.
I said "Yes and that has nothing to do with the show. In fact her character is not a vegetarian. It's a good show and David Boreanaz is hot so there."
She said she'd boycott a show and want it cancelled if an actor or actress was against her political views even if it didn't come out on the show.
(Now Dr. Brennan is an atheist but that's been more downplayed lately and that does bother me but it's not central to the show although it appears it may be used as an obstacle once the characters get together).
Should clarify Emily Deschanel is the star involved in animal rights. But David is hot.
Animal rights folks are alright with me until they try to outlaw steak. Okay, so maybe they’re not alright with me.
They not only downplay the atheist aspect but they’ll balance it with Booth. And they managed to have a touching Christmas episode a couple of seasons ago.
A woman traveling in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man below.
She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."
She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "Everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow now, it's MY fault."
Betty White is a hillarious PETA freak.
>>They not only downplay the atheist aspect but theyll balance it with Booth. And they managed to have a touching Christmas episode a couple of seasons ago.<<
Being an atheist is an important part of Temperance’s character. A scientist with the her particular personality traits would almost have to be.
Ask her if she's ever seen a movie with (or by) Charlton Heston, Mel Gibson, Jon Voigt, Bruce Willis, Bo Derek, Janine Turner, etc. .... If she answers Yes, you can tell her she's a hypocrite.
Love that! Consider it stolen!
I think it will be interesting to see how they handle this if things go forward with them as a couple which supposedly will happen in season 6 with developments this season. Rumor has big development with the Christmas episode this year.
Love it. I have to share it with friends and family.
it is but they don’t shove it down our throats too much. I watch it because I like the storylines and those 2 set the screen on fire.
I guess I'm on the other end of the rope from that friend.
I changed "Republican" to "Conservative" and "Democrat" to "Liberal" and forwarded this to my e-mail list.
Don't be surprised if it gets forwarded to you in a few days.
As a matter of fact, let me know when you do get it. It'll be fun to see how long it takes.
I would never boycott a good actor no matter who they are. Not many good actors anymore.
I still like that woman on The New Christine. For the life of me I can’t think of her name right now. Ruth? Sheesh!
I don’t like the show however. Julia (Elaine) was great as Elaine but not as Christine. Elaine was a natural. Christine is, well she needs a good writer. Got off the subject there.
Jerry Seinfeld... I watch reruns of reruns of reruns of that show.
Let’s see, Helen D is funny but I don’t watch her anymore. Timing.
FYI I’m talking about party affiliation not gender.
Pitt, never have seen him in a movie. Sean Penn is a good actor. I would still watch his movies from a video store.
There are more but my mind is blank.
