I get slammed all the time by my wife and others. They all tease me saying, "What? Did you write the "Rules of the Road" or something?" Only because I know the rules of road and they don't.

It's amazing how many drivers have licenses and don't even know the simple concept of "right" of way at a stop sign.

Pennsylvania is only number 36?! From experiences in the past I would think PA should be 3rd right after New York and New Jersey.

Folks in New York and New Jersey know how to drive. Its you hicks and the sticks who have no friggin balls when it comes to being behind the wheel.

Actually, the worst drivers in the world are east Asian women. This is true whether they are Chinese, Korean, or Japanese.

Last year's loser, New Jersey, improved its score

this is the hardest thing to believe.

Actually, I commuted by car into NYC for years, and never had any trouble. I always found Boston drivers far worse, constantly pulling out in front of you and making you slam on the brakes.

Why is that? Because if you did that to someone in NY, they would slam into your car just for the privilege of nailing someone who offended them. Or maybe they’d pull out a gun and shoot you. Nobody messes with NY drivers.

As a result, in some ways it’s actually safer than Boston.

New York City that would be. They are awful and disrespectful. There’s a whole lot of upstaters that can actually drive. I’d say New Jersey, around the New York City area and Massachusetts in and around Boston are worse than even NYC drivers.

As a Californian, I demand a recount. I drive here every day. There’s no way we’re better than both New York and New Jersey.

How about adding driving skills to the test?

You know this explains why I don’t want to learn how to drive a car until I have too, GA traffic is horrible, espically close to Atlanta where I live. This summer I have to finally suck it up and learn since I’ll be done with college next semester (and pay back all those rides I hitched). Plus I just I am walking accident (and also on a motorcycle) I truely dread the day I have a car.

Good and safe driving starts with simple consideration of other drivers. Public roads aren’t the place for aggression.

Idaho and Wisconsin drivers tied for the highest average score, with an 80.6.

There's no way Idaho drivers are that good, and I live here. If any FReepers see an Idaho plate with a "2C" on the left side of the plate, stay away...stay far, far away...

sure there are terrible drivers all over the u.s. but the worst drivers in the world are in china, and france. those people actually try to die/kill someone. no matter how bad it is here in the states, it is way worse in other countries.

The worst drivers in the world all live in the State of Michigan.

Don’t doubt me.

And, "The older the driver, the higher the test score." Drivers over 35 were more likely to pass than those under 35, while men over 45 posted the highest scores, and "the age group with the highest failure rates was young adults (18 to 24 years old)."

Just shows dumb motor = dumb voter

Having moved to NY two years ago (and having gotten a job in NJ about six months ago), I’ll agree to the results presented. In any case, when I go back to the Pacific Northwest to drive, it seems like being on a kiddie ride at Playland in comparison.
