Keith Olbermann: not necessarily the news (Mancow waterboarding faked?)

I dunno, maybe actual NBC reporters don't want to come on Keith Olbermann's show since he took to bellowing insults at them on the air while anchoring the network's coverage of the Republican convention last year. Whatever the reason, he's now apparently resorted to faking stories. The media-news site Gawker has been reporting for two days that the video of waterboarding you can see up above was faked. And, Gawker adds (though, it should be noted, without attribution), Olbermann knew it.

The "he lasted just 6-7 seconds" was the tipoff, I thought, at the very beginning. Hitchens went 5x that, and no matter how much I disagree with Hitch, he went total legit on trying waterboarding for himself, getting the pros to do it.

Womancow's ratings have been consistently slipping after a brief burst when Stern went to satellite in '06; and he has been a reliable felcher for the Left ever since -- not ironically -- the same time.

Every definition of torture on dictionary.com mentions extreme pain. I don’t see pain in that video. But, whatever. If Keith O calls it torture, I guess it is.

I still think we're asking the wrong question here.

Suppose I am willing to concede that waterboarding is a form of torture. I would still condone it, under extreme circumstances, to get multiple-life-saving information from someone whom we have good reason to believe might have it.

The question to me still is not, “Is waterboarding torture?” but rather, “Under what circumstances, if any, should we allow waterboarding to be used?”

Question: would the left allow waterboarding to evoke critical information from a domestic terrorist who had asserting that he planted 10 bombs at various Planned Parenthood clinics and Abortion-providing hospitals? I bet that as the clock ticked down, they'd turn a blind eye as the water poured.......
