Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R ) used line item veto to trim the budget and halt the push for internet transaction taxes.
Every once in a while, Tim acts like a Republican.
When small businesses, particularly those that offer e-sales, are struggling this is a smart move. If Minnesota happens to become a tax free island for e-business it could attract new business to the state.
The power to tax is the power to control.
Once a tax is started, it never ends.
