Recently we were approached by a source who is closely connected to Apples hardware development team. The source was willing to provide detailed information on the specs and release date of the next generation iPhone.
We have checked the sources credentials to the best of our ability and at this point deem the source as reputable. Of course we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the sources claims since Apple will neither confirm nor deny any future product releases, including if a new phone will even be released! Many of the specifics proposed by our source have been discussed in recent weeks, but many intriguing details revealed by the source have yet to be reported. Here are the specifics:

“What is tethering?”
It would allow you to use the iPhone as a hotspot so you can use it to connect your laptop or desktop computer to the internet via the iphone. You then wouldn’t need a separate internet connection for your computers.
AT&T doesn’t like it.
“Get the AOL Radio application and tune in to WPHT (It is a Philadelphia station). You get Rush right over the AT&T network. When I got it AOL Radio was free...”
There’s also iHeartRadio that streams hundreds of radio stations countrywide.
Actually you should have known ther IS and app for that...:o)
Uploading and downloading is done through USB connection/iTunes.
Yes, that’s not the issue.
Having reasearched it and gotten specific input from other Freepers, iTunes does not support downloading FROM the phone TO the computer.
You have to utilize other add-on programs.
Thanx
Apple products are superior. Owned PC's with Windows for ten years. Finally made the switch a year and a half back to a MacBook Pro. I'm through with PC's and Windows forever. My sister who owns and operates her very own consulting business just got herself a brand new MacBook Pro (after I advised her to do so) and she too is through with Windows.
Apple has a big advantage over the long term by virtue of the fact that they make the hardware and the OS for both the computer and the phone. Once they start to incorporate their own chips into their phone ( Apple has announced they will be designing their own processors for their hand held devices ) they will really leapfrog ahead of the competition. Count on it.
I believe jailbroken phones can tether from what I remember.
Doesn’t matter though.....can’t use it since I don’t have an iphone still.
Maybe in a couple months...just don’t want to switch to ATT, but Alltel will go all to crap with Verizon taking over anyway.
HTC phones with Android are cool. They also are $500.
For a phone.
