OK, the former anthropologist in me asks why, if the above are what we consider scary monster masks, meant to wear on a special festival only, would our young be permanently making their FACES look worse than these masks??
Hey, I have no problem with that. I have dated women with no piercings, and have found very little difference.
You would think that at least one of them would have a superpower.
Everytime I see people like these folks, I just want to cry. I have a very dear relative who has lead a very hard, heartbreaking life because she had the misfortune of being born with a deep colored port wine stain birthmark on her face. She suffered job wise because of her looks (lasers cannot completely erradicate the extraneous blood vessels and she wears a heavy makeup to try and camoflage the birthmark that is left). She would have given anything to not have spent a life ‘dealing’ with this; and these idiots take the gift of ‘normalcy’ and makes themselves freaks...life is never fair.
I can’t say anything snarky or funny...it just strikes me as so ironic.

No by they aren’t big brother dependent like some think. I take it by your screen name you are in the same neck of the woods I am in. I can direct you to an auto body shop that is top notch and the owner looks like these folks but is an artist and professional in his work. True they wouldn’t make it in the normal business world but they found what they are good at and they work their a**! Off at it. Better individual initiative than depandent on others.

My daughter finally gave up her lip and nose piercings to get a job, kept the tongue and belly button, but tones them down for work. It only took a year of no job interviews before she listened to me.
Comic Book Store? We call that profession the widow maker! Well, we would if any of them were married.
I’m sorry to hear a dear one has to suffer because of these fools.
I would hope reasonable employers/partners could sense the difference between unavoidable natural markings, and self induced scaring.

There are plenty of websites and YouTube clips showing people who look like this. No photoshopping necessary.
I don’t mind some ink on the arms & legs, it’s the stuff on the face and the oversize earplugs that get me. I’m in a university environment and you do see weird people, so maybe I’m used to it, but I still wonder were these people work. Most of the shop clerks that I’ve seen who have tats and piercings have something like a small nose stud or eyebrow ring. Jeez...I guess after awhile everything looks normal, huh? : ) Still would be a little skeeved by the skull tattooed on the face, tho.

I agree with you on this one. I shop frequently at Trader Joe's main store here in Monrovia, California.
One thing I've noticed was that a lot of the check out clerks were looking just about like that!...I told my wife, this way of looking must be a "must" when hired by Trader Joe's.
Don't get me wrong, Trader Joe's is my favorite groceries shopping place, but when a dude with nails thru his nose greets me at the check out, sometimes I am having a hard times swallowing it!
It looks to me that, even my tolerance levels are extremely high, I am getting to a point whereby "enough is enough".
