I can’t post my thoughts!!!!!
Does he have any hogs that he can be fed to?
I hope he gets his head split open in jail.
Poor horse. All they ever want to do is ‘join up’.
Let the punishment fit the crime.
Here in Texas, we say, “Get a rope!”
There are some seriously F’ed up people in this world.
There was never a horse born who wasn’t more intelligent and more valuable to God and man than this horrible evil ugly monster. Life without parole please.
I am so angry I could spit.
What the hell is wrong with people these days. People killing the unborn, killing helpless animals, it just makes me outraged!
Was it his horse?
The Law of Unintended Consequences is a bitch.
Now that horses can no longer be legally slaughtered, this sort of thing is becoming much more common.
They’d better keep an eye on this creep: this kind of gross, unconscionable animal abuse can be the last step before serial homicide.
Surge in Abandoned Horses Renews Debate Over Slaughterhouses
Horses are livestock, and the economy has caused many people to be unable to continue to care for their horses. Better to be turned into food than abandoned and left to starve.
Maybe the dogs severely injured the horse and he had to put it down.
When he gets sent to jail, make sure the other inmates know what he did. They will take care of him. That stuff does not go unpunished on the inside.
I can’t read the posting - just had to express my revulsion and disgust. Anything that gets done to him is OK with me.
Folks seem to be overlooking this important fact in favor of feeling righteous indignation. If the deputy didn't show up until much later and the guy didn't own a gun, what was he suppose to do? Let the horse suffer? One good whack to the head and the suffering stops.
I had a Cow that I had tied to a fence while I went to get the Trailer to move her, that decided to break her own neck, I did not have a rifle or pistol with me so I dispatched her with my pocket knife (slit her throat), she was a pet, her name was Elfidelda, and I could not let her suffer anymore. As a Farmer I would not let an animal go to waste, I butchered her, since she was a family pet I traded her hanging carcass for a hanging carcass of like size and weight at the butcher shop. I had her hide tanned and it became a rug in my bedroom. Do you think “I am a Monster?”
TT
Tenderizing...you’re doing it wrong.
Eye for an eye comes to mind.
I just dont know enough facts about this to make a final judgment but
What kind of dogs was this guy keeping and under what conditions would supposedly domesticated dogs brutally attack a horse?
If his dogs are so vicious as to attack a horse, does feeding those dogs the horse meat only encourage more viciousness?
If the horse was inured did he even bother to call a vet?
If the horse was so severely injured that putting it out of its misery on the spot was the best most humane option, beating it repeatedly over the head with a sledge hammer doesnt sound all that humane to me, did he not have a gun?
If it was a case that the guy couldnt care for the horse anymore, did he attempt to contact a humane society or horse rescue group?
Why did he lie about what had happened?
Inquiring minds want to know.
When I was a kid (about 3rd grade) my family lived in a rural area of SE PA and my dad did a lot of carpentry work for a large dairy - cattle farm. One Saturday I went along with my dad when he went to meet the head of the operation to go over some more work, in this case in the slaughter house.
I got quite an education that day. I learned how steers are slaughtered and while not pretty, what I observed was that they were dispatched quite quickly and as humanely as possible stunned by an electric prod and then shot in the head with a modified rifle.
The guy was very impressed by my composure and the questions I asked and told my dad that if I was interested in joining the 4-H that he would let me adopt a dairy calf and raise it and show it in the farm show, which I did for the next year before we moved back to the city. :(,
I learned a lot about dairy farms and cattle breeding and slaughter and I learned that these animals are not abused or mistreated or neglected even if they eventually end up in the food chain. I learned that farmers respect their animals and care for them and dont go out of their way to make them suffer.
With all that being said, I have no sympathy for a person who abuses, neglects, injures or kills an animal out of cruelty or base indifference. I think a person who does that to a defenseless animal is just one step from doing that to me. And a lot of farmers and hunters I know feel the same.
