Vanity: A suggestion next time site is CHANGED! (For a "Friend's List"..

I have met so many wonderful freepers here on FR over the years, and many that I would like to connect with for Conservative Activism!!.. It is hard to do, however (unless you remember every kind poster's nick.), Please would it be so hard to make it possible to have a "friend's list" next time you update the site like Facebook, Myspace, Youtube. Thanks, Jim.

Thanks,

I do however love FR!

JS.

Well, you could start a ping list, not sure how well that would serve your needs...

I would posit, though, that there are some features that I wish FR had (ignore lists especially).

Why not just keep your own ping list? I do. Lots of other freepers do. Many freepers have multiple ping lists.

I, for one, don't want FR to become just like every other site.

I keep an “ignore” list in the same doc as my ping list. Haven’t accidentally used one in place of the other, so far.

I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing. A typical ignore list simply does not show posts by people on the list. For example, if someone said something I personally found insulting, but was not technically trolling or flaming, I could place them on my ignore list and never have to look at their posts again.

No, I get it, I know how it works--it just seems wrong for this kind of forum. To me, at least--it just doesn't seem right. If someone is being truly abusive, we have mods; if someone if being repugnant to us (anyone) in a personal way, we have two options: Reasoned argument, which is what I love about this forum, or taking it upon ourselves to ignore a poster who is being unreasonable. We're all adult enough to shoulder that responsibility without adding cumbersome applications to the forum.

Net, I wouldn't dream of it!!!

I hope you both enjoyed a Happy Easter!
