I have a photo that I would like to post. If I understand it correctly, I need to upload the photo somewhere so it can be retrieved by FR. My question is where do people upload photos to? Hopefully, I'm on the right path.

There are several. Photobucket.com is pretty easy, the necessary html code for posting is right beneath whichever photo of yours you want to post from your archive.

Posting pictures on a free or pay(more space) site mentioned is a great way to share photos with friends and family.
You just provide them the link & password and they have your latest pics.
Not to mention a great backup for your pics.

I never have this problem.

Photobucket is generally very good and easy to use. However, it has recently engaged in political censorship. For example, they won't let you post anything related to Nazis anymore (including pics of historical rallies, the swastika flag, etc.).
I had posted those images for irony, to compare with the current Obamamania, but apparently the censors are either machines, or have no understanding of political satire.
BTW, I'll try doing the same thing with COMMUNIST propaganda symbols, and I'm anxious to see if the Photobucket censors are equally as eager to delete those...

The link left out a quotation mark... you only need to put
< img src=URL >
but don't put spaces before or after the arrows. Hope this helps..

oh, I didn’t know about that. I understand your reasoning for using them for that purpose...but I guess there is no way for them to know. Do you allow your pictures to be publicly viewed at random? If I recall correctly, when I set up my account, I selected keep mine private....if yours is public, someone could have complained. If you change it to private, and reuse one of the pics, it’d be interesting if they censor it.

LOL I am waiting with baited breath to know if yours are private or public... the public ones are available for anyone to go check out..at random on photobucket’s website.
If they are private, maybe you won’t have a problem. If they are public, I bet if you change to private, it won’t be a problem...but I’m just GUESSING.

Ok, I’ll try that. Nearly all of my pics on that account are public. I have a funny feeling that MediaMatters or MoveOn are the complainers; it would not be surprising. I’m still curious to see if anyone complains about Stalin, though...
