I had a phone get only slightly damp and it stopped working. Phone co told me there would be no charge for repair so I sent it in for repair and then they charged me $70 for a replacement. Then they told me that customer service is not qualified to make an assessment. Guess I need to direct all my service inquiries to the board of directors.
Motorola phones (and a couple of other brands) have a little sticker behind the battery that turns red if it gets wet. Frankly, even the slightest moisture can hurt a phone (like most electronics).. the transmitters are especially sensitive in newer digital phones.
