A Duluth man is behind bars after allegedly stealing a car and repeatedly calling 911 to brag to police that they would not catch him.
Police say the 23-year-old man stole gas from a gas station late Friday, then fled in a car he allegedly stole earlier in the night. A police officer spotted the stolen car about 2 a.m. Friday and chased the man, who crashed into a guardrail but then turned off his lights and sped away.
Police soon found the car abandoned. Shortly after that, the man allegedly began calling 911 from a cell phone and telling dispatchers he would not be caught because he was "smarter than the police."
But about two hours later, a man called 911 to report a prowler at his home. Police arrived and found the suspect hiding in a shed, and arrested him after a short struggle.

I'm not sure if this guy could be a nominee for a Darwin Award - but he's probably a nominee for Idiot Criminal Of The Year.

I wish this arrest was on COPS’.
It’s probably better that it wasn’t in this case. I rarely take that point of view. I wonder if he’s sobered up yet?
He may have been right, he may be smarter than any one policeman or policewoman.
It’s very difficult for even a very intelligent person to outwit several smart people, however, even if he or she is smarter than any one of them.
Yeah... this is the kind of stuff that C*O*P*S lives off of.
Thanks for posting that ~ it’s hilarious! You have to wonder what goes through these people’s heads.
My daughter had an acquaintance when we lived in a different state ~ she met him through a friend in H.S. He tried to rob someone’s house and didn’t realize the person was home sleeping. When he was chased he lost his shoe in the individual’s yard and was idiot enough to double back to the fence and ask if the man could throw him his shoe!
