There's something scrappy in Hollywood's water -- mere days after the very unexpected Faye Dunaway/Hilary Duff feud was ignited, another old guard/new guard battle is blazing. This time around Etta James is kicking it old school -- and threatening to kick Beyonce's teeth in.
Now, I was under the impression that these ladies got on like gangbusters -- not only did Beyonce play Etta in 2008's "Cadillac Records," but Etta acted as a mentor to B and attended the December premiere. Well, that's all in the past because Etta is furious that Beyonce dared to sing her iconic "At Last" during the presidential inauguration.

Etta is a legend — one of the greatest blues/jazz performers ever. And even at this age (over 70) she still rocks the house all night. Old school.

Etta was dissed bigtime. Beyonce play acting Etta in a movie is one thing; but after B had sung earlier at the Immaculation...why have a repeat performer performance? Why not have the original come and do the song? They propped up Aretha hat and all...(and the chapeau is now in the Smithsonian!?!?!?!) Anywho...Ms. James should have been given her props, and invited. I (honestly) thought I had missed her passing somehow (between the movie) and then Beyonce doing the song for the 'Dance.' There are some songs that no one else should ever touch...At Last is one of them. For the current cast of Democratic characters though, I would have suggested Cher's 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.' But I am sentimental like that...
We must all realize sooner than later that we 0 is the Pop President with a marketing campaign directed to the Pepsi generation who he knows will keep the liberal agenda alive and well. Older folks be damned.
The song “AT LAST” has been making a comeback on its own, well before the movie Cadillac Records, and Etta is probably justifiably pissed in a “last straw” kind of way, that she and what she made of the song are being frozen out yet again/ Has anyone noticed how many American Idol contestants have been citing and performing this song for years?
Which begs the question...who more resembles a chimp, Dubya or Zero?
