Actor Dustin Hoffman names a bathroom after him

London, Jan 15 (PTI) Actor Dustin Hoffman has named a bathroom after him at the college where he was once thrown out of.
The 71-year-old actor just his attended his first year in Santa Monica Junior College in California.
Hoffman revealed that he was not a very good student in his teen years but about nine years ago the college authorities asked if they could honour him in their new theatre, Contactmusic reported.

"I was the one celebrity from Santa Monica College, except for James Dean - and he wasn't available...They asked me and I said, 'But I got kicked out...' and they said, 'You're an alumni," the 'Rain Man' star said.
However Hoffman later persuaded the college authorities to name the theatre after someone who was more worthy than him and he himself opted for a toilet tribute.
"I said, 'Give me a toilet...' because on the stage they rarely have a bathroom in the wings and you get nervous and you can't go to the bathroom, and you have to go underneath and go around...I said, 'Give the whole cast a toilet just in the wings before you come on, it's a great thing to do," he said

...they said, "You're an alumni,"...Obviously they never took Latin. Even if he had graduated, he would have been an alumnus, not an alumni. Alumni is plural.
Unless, perhaps, he was beside himself.

Revealing the background to a bathroom scene he shares with Robert De Niro in comedy hit "Meet the Fockers," Hoffman said on Wednesday that chatting while sitting on the toilet was something he had enjoyed all his life.
"When I was growing up, in my house, it was one of the best places to have a conversation.
"One person was on the toilet, like my brother or whatever, and I would sit on the edge of the tub and we'd have these wonderful conversations," he told reporters during a European promotional tour for "Fockers."
