An interesting bit of film. Those of you who haven’t watched it should take the less-than-six minutes to view it.

Over 90% of the wounded who make it to America survive.

Amazing, isn't it?
I know for a fact that the training combat medics receive is superb.

Bagram is the primary treatment facility in theater. I was in 130s there and about every week we seemed to be flying somewhere on a medivac mission. We always did whatever we could to make sure the wounded got to Bagram safely and as comfortable as we could make it.

Good stuff, thanks for the ping. I’ve got a buddy who is a C-17 pilot, and have gotten a full private tour at Charleston. It’s an amazing aircraft.

Wow...I am surprised anyone remembered. Yes, OCC, I was boots on the ground which meant that I helped unload the planes when they landed. I was in the bus with the cross on it and I was also at Landshtul handing off the Wounded to the hosp care. We were stationed at Ramstein where the planes landed and we got to house the less critically wounded there. I retired in Sept 08. I especially did not want a person who I don't consider a Patriot signing my retirement papers. Thank you kindly for remembering. I was at work when I noticed the post. I don't sign in at work so I had to wait to come home to post. It brought tears to my eyes...Martha

Thank you for your service.

Hey Thanks!
Here's an update on that missing pilot:
Pilot accused of faking his death by parachuting from crashing plane and speeding away on a motorcycle after stealing millions from investors and thousands from his parents while in the process of divorce has been found and arrested. Whew
