Seagulls are thriving in cities attacking people, deafening residents, damaging buildings, spreading panic and disease. By 2014 there could be as many as 6m of this new urban menace From a distance, the landscape looks like a tranquil slice of rural England. Pudding-shaped hills, green valleys rimmed with autumn-coloured trees. But there is something odd. Maybe half a mile away there is a brilliant white stripe against the slate-grey sky. One moment it is a thin spiral, like a tornado. Then it sinks down, only to billow again like smoke from a volcano.

Herring Gull
"Herring gulls are huge birds, each one a kilo in weight with a wingspan of 4 1/2ft. A thousand of them in the air together are a tonne of hardened muscle wielding a terrifying armoury of beak and claw. And there are many more here than a thousand. Exponentially more. We are heading into a zone where gulls not only outnumber their human neighbours, but outweigh them."

I worked at a building that had lots of seagulls. It looked like they were living on the roof. They were miles from a big body of water.
Just call Tippie and Rod they will take care of it.
They use my truck as a bomb target. With disastrous resutls, for the truck.
Sure. Tastes like salty chicken.
So, start shoting them. Oh, so sorry, I forgot. This is the UK, no guns allowed. Why do they seem surprised. Gulls are scavengers. Here on the West coast, they sleep on the beach every night. Then just after dawn. You can watch them take off, usually in two large group launchings. They head inland. Why, because they are flying to the inland canyon landfills where they feast on garbage all day and then return to the beach in late afternoon. That is a lot easier for them then flying above the waves looking for a fish.
They are talking about it..

Ass***es are running out of ideas in Hollywood..
For cryin out loud, I know it’s the UK and all, but have these people never thought of arming a bunch of young boys with pellet guns and offering a bounty on gulls?
Mrs. AV

Pellet guns with decent muzzle velocities are illegal in England.
Wrist rocket slingshots and 10p/gull should solve the problem.
Nah
We must learn to appreciate their culture.
