Help. My old 27" CRT TV died and I'm in need of a replacement TV. Any suggestions for a good 32" LCD model that won't burn a hole in my pocket? I'm thinking about getting a VIZIO VO32L 32" TV, where Costco is selling for US$449 (and they have plenty in stock).
i like both Bravia an LG (or Philips same company)
I bought a Sanyo and realized my mistake.
Make sure its 1080 not 720.
My wife has one of those VIZIO 32” TV’s on the wall in her sewing room ... nice TV. We have had it for over 2 years and no problems and good picure!
I have a Vizio “47 inch. I love it.
We have had one of the Vizio 32” sets as well for over a year. No problems.
My Costco didn’t have any 32s, so I ended up with one from Best Buy, a 34 Samsung, HD. I need to do a tiny bit of “doctoring” to the cabinet it’s in but other than that it’s great. Price was around $600, unfortunately.
Good luck. I sure felt like a dinosaur going out and looking at new TVs. Like I’m from another century, or a nother planet. Sheeesh.
I’m sure you will enjoy your new HDTV...We have three Vizios and they all are very good monitors.
MERRY Christmas!
At 32”, it’s hard to tell the difference. At the extra cost, it’s kind of pointless.
“Make sure its 1080 not 720.”
Does it matter for a 32” screen and do screens that size have a 1080? Just askin.
Thanks for the suggestions. More if possible.
We’re moving to a new house after Christmas, and I plan to adopt HD for the first time and full tilt boogie electronics all over the place.
I heard the Vizio is acceptable from guys at work.
I just got my daughter a 32 Sony Bravia, paid $499 at Walmart on BF.
Walmart has a Sharp 32 now on sale for $398.
720P seems fine for this size set, she loves hers. She had a 27 tube set.
Only your eyes can tell what’s right for you. IMHO 32 is a very convenient ‘bedroom sized’ room set.
So in your opinion a 32 for say a bedroom or spare room looks good enough at 720p that its not worth getting the better one?
I’d try and get a bigger one if it was me. Huge difference between a 32” and a 40 or 42”. The 42”ers are going for a little over $700 and unless it’s for a bedroom you will wish you had a larger one than 32”.
We shop at Costco every single week, and I can tell you we consistently see many many Vizio TV’s sitting around on flats at the Return area.
Not really a good sign ... Jus sayin’
Sharp makes a much better TV than Vizio, and that’s only an additional $50 at Costco. Also, 1080p is almost entirely unnecessary on a 32” set unless you’ve got it within a few feet of your face.
Big Lots starting tomorrow...Sharp 42” 1080p built-in ATSC tuner, 3 HDMI inputs HDTV
....for $699
I think I will likely end up with the VIZIO VO32L 32" LCD panel. I've seen the picture quality and it's quite good. (Sure, the Samsung and Sonys may be better but they want US$75 to US$100 more for the same size panel.) Good thing Comcast does broadcast over-air HDTV channels on "clear QAM" so I will at least be able to see HDTV broadcasts of over-air local channels (e.g., I get to watch the Super Bowl in HD!).
Just finished getting ripped off by Samsung....don’t buy a Samsung.....television died after 19 mos (not even paid off), and Samsung says too bad.
I have a Vizio and it is very good. Whatever you do, but it from COSTCO where they throw in the extra year warranty.
Vizio is good stuff.
