Of all the hair-brained things the NHL has done over the years, the outdoor games over the past few years have been a sheer stroke of genius.
One of these days I’d like to see my Sharks play one of the Winter Classic games...one of these days...
The Winter Classic this past New Years Day b/w Buffalo and Pittsburgh was a memorable experience, even only watching it on TV since tix were gone months in advance.
73,000 fans in Wilson Stadium, the “Missing Man” flyover, Ronan Tynan singing “God Bless America”, Crosby & Malkin, the elements, the fans — just a great event...
How cold does it get in San Jose?
LOL, well if it were to happen, it’d probably have to be against Buffalo/Phila/Detroit, etc. at Buffalo/Phila/Detroit and so on.
On the other hand it did snow in Las Vegas this week, so I suppose all things are possible with global warming. :)
I’m looking forward to this since the early afternoon Jan. 1 games aren’t that interesting. I already have a 2009 Winter Classic t-shirt.
