My ex-wife had a cousin with CF. She lived to be 31 and had a CF free baby girl.

Well, CF isn’t a disease a person gets from being irresponsible. Naturally we must donate more time and money to something people get by being irresponsible.

What an upside down world we live in.

I have a cousin who has a daughter with CF....

I've treated many CF patients....The good thing is the avg. life span of the CF pt. is increasing.....

Frankly I think it will be cured...or managed better as "stable disease" in the near future.

I am so sorry to read of your loss, Geezer. Losing a child at any age is a terrible experience for any family to suffer through. CF is a horrible disease, we’ve known several children who suffered it, and have only a sense of what your daughter and you went through.

Unbelievable myopia by the educated college class.

My supervisor had two daughters with CF in 1977. It was an ongoing effort to keep their lungs clear enough to breathe.

This is the first time I’ve heard that CF is predominant in males? Why would that be the case? I know girls have CF too.

I have donated to the CF Foundation for about 30 years now, ever since I found out one of my Dad’s cousins had 3 of her 4 sons afflicted with this disease. She did not happen to have any daughters. The odds of her having a CF child was one in four since she and her husband were both healthy, and presumably each carried the CF gene. It would not have mattered what gender the children were. Unfortunately for this family, three had CF.

CF is predominant in the northern European population. According to these idiots who are now using PC to assign funds to disease, we should also not bother with sickle cell anemia as it is only in Africans. Or how about Tay-Sachs disease which is in the Jewish population?

This is one way to stop the funding of all sorts of diseases. If you are in a population that is out of favor, forget it. Isn’t this also called geneocide???

And dangerous folks that will KILL people by refusing aid for possible
therapies and/or cures.

I guess if there’s not “diversity” in the disease’s victims...
it’s not politically correct to attempt to treat/cure it.

been given some sort of adjunct faculty member position)
