Some positives that will form from an Obama Presidency.

Posted on 10/20/2008 3:57:07 PM PDT by sociallyunacceptable

Now I am in no way throwing in the towel, but I can not live with the sinking feeling of despair for another two weeks.

An Obama Presidency will lead to more handouts for the poor and lazy. Pro-abortion and anti gun Supreme court nominations will further the liberal agenda. Increasing Muslim support will undermine Isreals attempt to protect itself. The silver lining to this is people will see what is happening to our American ideals and swing from the left to the right.

America always goes from one extreme to the other. This will be no exception. While it is the now the popular thing to be a liberal democrat we will eventually see a balance to at least the middle, like a pendulum.

I hope to God I am right, I believe that Obama supporters are not evil people, just stupid, I mean uninformed ;).

I think that over time, Obama bashing will take the place of Bush bashing in a year or two.

Anyone feel the way I do?

McCain is going to win, probably by a landslide. Quit listing to the media.

It is pretty tough living in Baltimore. All I see is support for Obama. Even when I visit my mom in Lancaster, PA I see support for Obama! I mean, what the hell are these people thinking?

“Increasing Muslim support will undermine Isreals attempt to protect itself.”

Don’t you realize that increasing Muslim support means that OUR COUNTRY will fall prey to the domination of Islam the way France has and England currently is?

So with a remade Supreme Court and a filibuster-proof Senate do you think the Democrats will let the opportunity to totally remake the country slip away, knowing that it won’t come again for a long time? Do you suppose that conservatives and Christians will have another chance with ACORN being an agency of the government integrated with or supplanting FEC? with a renewed Fairness Doctrine extended to the Internet including mandated filters to block offshore sources? With massive Hate Crime and Hate Speech legislation enacted and validated by the new USSC?

Hey, I am not saying that Obama will be good for our country! I just know that there are a lot of Americans who will not let him get out of control!

Also, if Americans elect a black man as President, I do not want to hear one more word about RACISM!!!!!

1. It will end the Clinton Era

2. The economy is so screwed up that Obama will be a one termer

3. Iraq is won and Afghanistan is a NATO effort. It will be won too.

4. Obama has no core beliefs so he will spend his first four years taking polls and doing focus groups in preparation for the 2012 elections. He will move to the middle like Clinton did and screw his lefty friends (only figuratively in Obama’s case).

5. America will be so sick of loser Demonrats that it will be 1980 again. God Bless America!

No, we do not go from one extreme to the other. We alternate between periods of moving rapidly to the left, and periods when we hold still or only slightly edge left.

A good way of seeing this is to look at the current roster of Supreme Court justices. The popular characterization is that there are four liberals, four conservatives, and Kennedy as the swing justice. But there is a very big distinction between the four liberals and the four supposed conservatives. The four liberals use their position on the court to force a leftist agenda on the nation. The four conservatives do not engage in comparable behavior. They do not use their position to ram rightist policies down the nation's throat. Souter would force every state to permit same-sex "marriage", but Scalia wouldn't force a state which sanctioned such "marriages" to repeal them. Stevens would strip states of the authority to impose the death penalty, but Thomas wouldn't order New York (where they don't have the death penalty) to implement it. Ginzburg would force all the states to finance abortions with tax dollars, but Scalia wouldn't order a state not to do so.

America, and all Western nations, are being driven leftward. Conservative eras in Western nations are mainly periods when we don't move to the left. They aren't periods when we move to the right. This is why the West is doomed unless it wakes up and actually begins rolling back leftism. It's doubtful that will happen, which is why East Asia is the future center of intellectual, cultural, and economic power, and the Islamic world is poised to annex Europe.

Exactly. That only happens if conservatives curl up in a ball and let democrats walk all over them. I remain politically active no matter who holds power.

Lots of liberals in my family are supporting Obama but will turn on him in a heartbeat if he tries to get too far out of control.

This year has been a classic study in political motivation based solely on fear. It's a pathetic and dangerous way to make a decision.

If Hussein get his Senate filibuster-proof then the Democrats can make the country anything they want. They do not have to permit the continued existence of free-market capitalism. It becomes a matter of what Hussein and the Obamacrats will permit and what they will require. With citizenship for the Mexicans and Central Americans the Democrats will not have to face any threat to their power outside of their Party ever again. Of course that pertains with a McAmnesty, too.

So, you think I am troll? Why, because you do not like what I have to say? Look at all of my past comments before you make that determination.
