His manic character made that show....did you see him in the movie A Simple Plan? I really liked that show.
He was a former valet here in L.A. for a restaurant I pass by sometimes but anyways, he’s on Big Love where he plays a dude married to lots of women in Utah.
He directed that absurd Frailty where a psychopath killer uses Christianity as an excuse while he also directed the surprising “The Greatest game ever played” with a young Shia Lebeouf (Indy 4) based on the true story of the greatest upset in US Open history when an American teenager beat the greatest British golfer of that time. Great DVD.
I’ve heard rumor that he was a mega coke head at one time.
Other sequels better than the original include:
Star Trek II (best of the series)
Spider-Man II (next to Dark Knight the best comic book movie ever made)
Road Warrior
LOTR II (Twin Towers)
Yes, they said. We trusted them that much. We believed in them that much. And it's gonna be GREAT.
And looking back, I am beginning to think that all three of them had that sinking feeling. They had to promote the movie and get people psyched up to go see it. But they knew the sequels sucked and this was their way of signaling to others in the industry: Dude, we had no idea what we were getting into. We didn't read the scripts! Don't blame us!
“Was continually - and graphically - having Spielberg and Lucas violently rape Indiana Jones too far?”
Yes. Oh, you mean South Park...
I enjoy South Park quite a bit. I didn’t see this episode, but I gotta say that their shock shtick is getting a bit old. I know those guys can write some intelligent comedy at time...perhaps the real shock would be to have them do more of that.
On the plus side, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger were good. But then again, you can't really count movies made from a series of successful novels as Hollywood sequels.
If these guys remain true to their word as libertarian, free speech types, then they should try skewering 0bama and his extreme positions. If when 0bama is president, the South Park guys start catching flak, or are called racist, we’ll see what their reaction is. They’d better not back down. If anything, their show could be an outlet for taking on 0bama and his threats to free speech. How odd would that be if we have to turn to this cartoon show for support in our efforts to protect free speech and the right to dissent. Heaven help us all if it comes to that.
South Park... pouring mud into murky water...hard to drink but a lot of folks pour crap down their throats,, sooner later they throw up...well, it’s just a joke...
As a side note unrelated to this, can someone tell me why I cannot “copy” words anymore. Everything I try to copy comes up “http://windowsxp-privacy.net/?id=01502200020".
This was the most boring and unfunny episode ever. I swiched it off after the first half.
I just saw the movie and I felt raped too. Problem is that George Lucas wrote it. The guy should be barred from writing screen plays. He’s just horrible but he knows he can write crap and people will come see it. I always joked that he could do a star wars move with 90 mins of Yoda humping Jabba the huts tail and star wars fans will eat it up. It’s this type of brainwashing that has lead us to the celebration of a fake in Obama.
You forgot “they mostly come out at night, mostly” (Newt)
Aliens was a good sequel.
Should of kept reading before replying. lol.
The directors cut of Aliens is awesome.
I liked the scenes of the Colony before and during their discovery of their Alien Neighbors.
Those automatic guns the Marines used were pretty cool also.
Paxton played a great Psycho vampire in “Near Dark”.
Cool flick from the 80’s. The Lost Boys came out about the same time and over shadowed it.
Lance Hendrickson was also in it as the head Vamp.
