I just heard a caller to the Larry Elder Show say that she went to a theater in West L.A. to see An American Carol, and they didn't even have it on the marquee. The worst was when she said some friends reported gettng ticket stubs that didn't even have the name of the film on them. Hmmmm ... makes me wonder if some of our tickets were tallied in the columns of another picture?
I think I remember theaters doing the blank ticket thing of “Passion of the Christ.”
They put it in the tiniest theater in the megaplex where I saw it, with the result that it was sold out. In other words, they didn’t provide enough room for the people who wanted to see it, and this reduced the audience.
I saw this movie Saturday evening with 6 friends. We laughed our A** off! it is fabulous and touches on the scumbag ACLU, Gun rights, gays, Christians being blamed for the evils in the world among other things.

Too bad we can’t get Michael Moore/Malone to do an expose on movie theater chains and payola for the reported ticket sales of movies. All it would take would be the tickettaker to push the button for “Religulous” instead of American Carol, and figure you’ll never look at the ticket. It would be fun to have a fat, pushy Moore clone barging in with camera crew to West L.A. theaters, asking tough questions.
Then, when you go to see any other movie, buy a ticket for "American Carol" but go watch whatever movie you wish.

My friend who lives in the looney left capital of San Francisco said his ticket was printed with “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”. Honest to God. When he saw what happened he marched right up to the manager who made a vague excuse about a ‘mix up’. yeah right. Typical.
Isn't what the theater is doing the equivalent of stealing from the producers of "An American Carol"? Wouldn't that be prosecutable from the movie producers' point of view?
I saw the movie on Saturday. It wasn’t listed on the marquee and the poster on the outside of the building was handwritten. Strange.
I hate to say it, but I wasn’t crazy about the movie. It had quite a few funny moments but it lacked continuity. Voight did a wonderful job as George Washington.
Right now on Larry Elder (KABC am 790, in So. Cal), he’s getting calls from So Cal folks who’ve been to see the movie. Great listening. Callers are also talking about how kids are stealing their McCain signs from their houses.
On the bright said, the loathsome “W” is being shown here in MA only in Boston and Northampton. Getting about $600 per screening.

I agree GO SEE AN AMERICAN CAROL!!! It is one of the funniest movies I have EVER seen and yet is incredibly patriotic!

Sounds like an ACORN type of move. We need to boycott liberal Hollyweird and throw out our Congress reps who sold us out.
The theatre my friends and I watched it in was very small. Doesn’t matter, very intimate to have a whole audience bonding and laughing at this great flick. One funny side note, about 10 minutes into the movie two very liberal looking people up front got up and stormed out of the theatre apparently completely offended. THAT alone is a good reason to go see it.

It is a French releasing company from what I hear (shut out by Hollywood?).
They should request an audit of the theaters.
Knowing the stunts they pull in bookstores, it is quite possible.
Also make sure that you get 2 stubs back from DIFFERENT tickets if you give them 2 tickets. Sometimes ushers will tear one ticket in half, hand out both halves to the couple, and then shuttle the untorn tickets up to the box office again. No particular slight against one movie, just an underhanded way for the box office worker and the usher to make some money.
Sometimes they will also punch reduced tickets and charge full price. Look at the digital display when your tickets come up.
