It’s a damn shame that one has to go to the concert-hall to hear his E minor Mass.

The Kyrie from that is enough to make even Pilate repent...

Bruckner built brass and french horn sections that were ground breaking...

In the last 3 symphonies, Bruckner used Wagnerian tübinhorns to give the brass a darker color.

I'm very fond of #4, #7 and #8.

The Eighth has some amazing passages. In the scherzo, he creates the effect of cascading church bells without using bells in the score at all. And in the slow movement, there is a passage that is the best depiction of the night sky I've ever heard.

Hoosier, Bruckner is not my all time favorite, despite being a Wagner devotee. But I did spend the weekend at Rabbit Hash, Ky gazing across to the Indiana shore and Belterra’s riverboat at Rising Sun. Would this get me on your ping list
