Scott Michael Turner, 29, charged with felony animal cruelty for throwing a kitten against a wall, is sentenced to seven months in the Ramsey County Workhouse. He's also banned from possessing animals during a four-year probationary period.
Turner is also required to undergo anger management treatment and must abstain from using drugs or alcohol as part of his sentence, as part of a stayed 15-month prison sentence.
Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner was pleased with the sentence, saying that animal cruelty crimes are often a red flag for abuse to children or adults.
The St. Paul man was convicted by a jury August 8 for the May 12 incident in which he threw a neighbor's kitten against the wall during a fight with his girlfriend. His girlfriend was cat-sitting the kitten.
The kitten had to be euthanized for extensive injuries.
A bullet to the head would be more appropriate.
I have a hard time getting excited over this stuff when the media completely overlooks partial birth abortion. This is 1/1000th as bad as a partial birth abortion. Lets keep our eyes on the ball folks.
That’s why I put it in chat....
You are right...
And our eyes remain on the ball.......

I agree that the guy has some serious issues. I just don't see the life of a cat as being all that big a deal. Not enough to put someone in prison for seven months. It sets a bad precedent. It cannot be far away when drowning moles or setting mouse traps or setting racoon traps is considered just as bad.
Crack whore or not, her baby is still an innocent human being who is being murdered...

This is the WHOLE reason these slowly creeping in animal "cruelty" laws exist. Too many folks see what one moron does to some cat/dog/bird/etc and then judges it as if they actually gave one whit about that animal before it was killed, as if it was their own.
Look, I agree, this guy is a dirtbag, but I don't support putting folks in jail over animal deaths, not even cruel animal deaths. Psych screening, possibly, maybe even treatment if deemed potentially dangerous, but jailing makes no sense at all to me. And please, PLEASE! don't bring up the stupid animal cruelty/serial murderer shtick.
It's a very sad state of affairs when a "conservative" cares more for his cat than for an innocent human life. If conservatives can displace emotion that way, just imagine how whacked out the NARAL loving Dims truly are. Sigh.
I swear, too many people do not understand what man had to do to survive for the last 1000 years.
