Now I see the pot roast question. Mom's is great, every time.

She has a real heavy, oval pot with lid. On top of the stove heat it with a little olive oil in it. We use a flat shoulder roast that we make a trip to Food Town on Eldridge (I think that is near you) to get. Salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder on every side. when oil in real hot brown the roast on all SIX sides using two long forks.

Add one chopped onion and one cup of water and cook 1 hour on 350. Turn over for another hour. Lift out, add potato, carrots and another onion, replace roast on top and add enough water to come about half way up the roast. Cook a 3rd hour.

The next day we chop up what's left and add rice and eat with hot rolls as a hash. Or as sandwiches, if any of the meat is left.

I wish we could find larger than 3.5 pound roast there.

Thanks for the egg roll recipe. It was so much easier than I imagined.

I am excited that I can now make homemade egg rolls!

Ok Sparky, which cookbook had this recipe?

Can you just admit that this thread was a good idea and that you are full of crap? It will only take you one post to man up.

You're most welcome. Isn't that a good one? Make sure you write it down - I've spent considerable time trying to remember what the seventh thing in the "Seven Thing Chicken" is!

So you do want me to continue answering?

I have no idea which cookbook had this recipe. We’ve already established that there are many cookbooks in the world.

Like I said, if you need the last word, just say so.

We have not established that you can admit that you are wrong about this thread being useful.

The last word should be you admitting that you were wrong.

Lots of cook books will have 4 or 5 good recipes - and hundreds of mediocre ones. Asking freepers for their favorites is faster ...

Do you really think it matters to me whether or not you have established that or what you may think I should be admitting?

It is simple.

Admit that you are wrong about the usefulness of this thread.

That would be the appropriate last word for you to post.

I have no need to get the last word, I’ll just keep responding to your pleas.

I can vouch for both of these recipes. They are WAY good.
