How has Moslem opinion and support of Terrorism changed since the WOT began? I ask this question because I think it has the greatest bearing on whether we are winning or not. Let me explain, I remember Rumsfeld saying at the beginning of the war in Iraq that we needed better metrics in order to find a better strategy in Iraq, which we were losing at the time, he never did find them. It was eventually Gen. Petreus that developed the winning strategy, but a strategy thats working in one theater of the War, doesnt answer the real question of winning the over all War on Terror. As the WOT is clearly a clash of civilizations, and the Islamic world will continue to spawn new terror organizations after Al Qaeda is gone, if we havent really won. The question of whether we have really won becomes paramount. Since, to win a war, you must break the enemys will to fight. The real metric we need, is a measure of that will, and how it has changed over the course of the war. So, what I am looking for is the change in Moslem support for Terrorism, in order to gage our success in the WOT. I know that support will never go to zero, but has it dropped below majority support? What is the trend? Can we trace changes in the trend to actions we have taken or not taken? I believe its falling, but I would like hard facts to reinforce my belief. I remember seeing a couple of opinion polls of the Islamic world but I have never seen one tracking the changes in those opinions over the course of the war. Does anyone know of a study like this?
It is foolish to think that the war on terror will ever be really over. And the Islamic/Muslim terrorist world now knows that for one, the United States, if it has a REAL PRESIDENT, will never lay down for radical Islamic terror.
Never.
Alot has been accomplished, and the war is far from over.
Radical mooslimbs will kill us.
Moderate mooslimbs want us dead.
Liberal mooslimbs will just let it happen.
I learned all I need to know about islam on Sept. 11, 2001.
The WOT is not over but the principle battleground, Iraq, is being cleared of the foreign terrorists who have been killing the Iraqi people. Until Islam is faced with the choice of total destruction or acceptance of the modern age it will continue shifting around as weak politicians give it an opening. It will be over when the majority of Moslems say “No mas.”
Yeah, sure. But the fact is more moslems have been killed by the terrorists than have US soldiers. We have thousands fighting side by side with our soldiers against the common enemy. This should not be brushed aside with too broad a brush.
GOOD!!!!!
We have thousands fighting side by side with our soldiers against the common enemy.
In the ME, it is considered prudent to side with the "Bigger Gun."
Intelligent people do not insult their allies.
Don’t get me started on religions started by frauds but many of Islam’s adherents were born into and it is part of the cultural background of their societies. When they are approached with belligerence and hostility they respond accordingly. WWJD?
If McCain can be prevented from inflicting Amnesty on the country, and if he just lets his global warming tic fade away he will be an effective, perhaps great, commander in the current and next phases of the Islamic War, and maybe even do what is necessary to actually win it. If...
Our only "allies" in islam are those that wish the US to protect them from islam's internicean warfare. When they no longer feel threatened, they will no longer be "allies."
When they are approached with belligerence and hostility they respond accordingly.
Until Western governments get serious in their dealings with islam, we will be at the mercy(HAH!) of these animals.
WWJD?
I would never suppose to know what He would do. I am only a man.
Tactical alliances are important and should not be undermined for no reason.
Blowhardism is the doctrine of the Democrats not patriots.
When all arguments fail, resort to name calling.
Leave it in the schoolyard!
