He has pushed her to perform and embarrasement since she was a little girl. Typical overbearing parent trying to live ($$$$) through a child.

Golf wouldn’t have Tiger either as one could make the same argument against his dad.

We wouldn’t have the Williams’ sisters in tennis if their dad didn’t set goals for them to become the best tennis players in the world.

Often it does take a dedicated parent to drive their child to be better than they could have ever been on their own.

It’s one thing if they were humiliating their child when they knew the kid didn’t have enough raw talent or hated the sport they were practicing in, or as you said, were trying to live or re-live their own glory days through their kid. It’s another thing if that isn’t the case.

True, Her father pushed her to turn pro at 16. She should have finished high school and at least two years of college like Tiger. That way she would grow in both maturity and game performance.

He was chasing the money, and she has gotten it. In the process, she has screwed up her career and done dumb things, like not knowing the rules backwards and forwards.

But dad is happy now with his home in Hawaii and his home in Palm Desert, CA supposedly so Michelle can practice and be closer to the tournaments. Funny how the other pro golfers like Tiger got the hell out of CA to avoid the outrageous income taxes. Wonder why Michelle did not take up residence in Florida and save a bundle on taxes.
