Horn Lake, MS -- The black bear spotted in the Horn Lake, Mississippi area is still out there somewhere.
It was last seen in a wooded area behind the Apple Creek Subdivision. Jimmy Massey was one of the last people to see the bear. "I saw something move in the trees, and there it was about 60 yards from me. It just stopped and stood there for about 30 seconds," Massey said.
Mississippi Wildlife Officials believe the bear may be lost or looking for a mate. They tried to pick up a signal from a tracking collar the bear may be wearing, but so far, their efforts have been unsuccessful.
Officials say if anyone comes in contact with the bear, they should not approach the animal, instead call state wildlife officials at (601) 432-2400.
They used to say “There’s no such thing as wild cats and mountain lions” in Kentucky too. When I was a child, about nine, I came face-to-face with a mama mountain lion. If it weren’t for my dad, I wouldn’t be here.
There’s wild critters everywhere, we just don’t always see them.
How long before they capture and relocate it to NW New Jersey?
NO THANK YOU, we have quite enough already!!!!!!!

Here is the bear awareness link in Hopatcong. Nothing will be done about the bear population until someone’s kid is killed.
Let me guess! King Willie is out shopping again!
One of my children lives near Barlett, Tenn. a suburb of Memphis. A bobcat was in their driveway one day this week.

Was he swimming or floating? /s/
I know of a Brown bear that had seven 9mm bullets in him for several days before he finally killed a forest ranger.. An adult Alaskan Brown bear is fully as big as a GMC Safari or Astro VAN.. You need a cannon to stop one of those.. Usually a 12 gage with slugs.. and at that with a good shot..
I lived in Horn Lake a couple years during my junior high years. Talk about amazing growth.
And speaking of out-of-place animals, there have been multiple sightings of a kangaroo on the Natchez Trace.
MM
I wonder if that was the same kangaroo that was spotted down here over in the Bay St. Louis - Waveland area a year or so ago?
There have always been bear in Mississippi contrary to envirogaiawacko claims to the contrary
I have seen them myself near Steele Bayou (sons of Teddy’s teddy)
and at Lake Bruin Louisiana in Tensas.
Bears in Deep Dixie tend to be swamp lads.
Manatees in north Miss?

We had some big cat here in town ..a Caracol maybe....in Warner park in Belle Meade.
