I wish those here daily (er, hourly) bashing John McCain would take the time to listen to him.

He's a good guy. Give him a listen.

What unabashed arrogance you have! Do you honestly believe that after 8 years, the majority of the people on FR has not heard what John McCain has to say? We have heard what he has to say and we reject it!

There's a word for political parties which -- when increasingly confronted by anger and rejection on the part of the electorate -- routinely blame said voters for "not getting it," rather than re-examiming their own product for warts and flaws.

That word is "losers."

Sorry, can’t pull the lever for Johnny Mac.

He’s a liberal on “enviro” issues, illegals, energy and a poor economic candidate. Yes, he’s good on the WOT but when our souther border is gaping wide open, when we permit foreign terror enabling despots to dictate energy and when we allow idiot greenies to surrender American economic leadership & sovereignty — what’s the point of winning the WOT and losing everything else?

I listened to him speak this morning.
I thought he did very well.

I plan to vote for him in November & truly hope that he picks a candidate for his VP that will not force me to stay home instead.

Take a look at the post immediately after yours:

McCain 05/15/2008 Speech - Illegal Immigration Solved

This was from the same speech: "Our southern border is now secure"? Is there more enforcement now that there was a year ago? Yes. Is it anywhere close to being able to say the "southern border is now secure"? No. Anyone who says it is secure is either delusional, lying or both.

I took time to listen to him.

From his speech today: - this is not a joke. (thanks go to ktime)

Excerpt of speech:

“Border state governors have certified and the American people recognize that after tremendous improvements to border security infrastructure and increases in the border patrol, and vigorous prosecution of companies that employ illegal aliens, our southern border is now secure.

Illegal immigrants who broke our laws after they came here have been arrested and deported.

Illegal immigration has been finally brought under control, and the American people accepted the practical necessity to institute a temporary worker program and deal humanely with the millions of immigrants who have been in this country illegally.”

If McCain wants the Conservative vote, which he recently said he doesn’t need, knows where to find it and what to do to get it.

Otherwise Juan McCain needs to STFU, because I will not vote for him otherwise.

What the title implies is shut up and vote for me not matter what.

Conservative’s that end up giving this idiot their vote are no different than blacks that cast their vote year after year for democrats.

Hell how many here would reward your unrepentent children with expensive gifts?

Well don’t reward mcCain or any of his fellow travelers with your vote that he has not earned.

They are starting to realize that we are needed and soon they will move to the right, if not screw them. Let them experience the results of their behaviour.

Otherwise we just enable them to continue to not listen to us.

“Good guy” isn’t going to do it for me. We’ve had a good guy in the White House for the past eight years, and the last four have been a disaster.

Sorry, at election time people say anything to get elected. That is the reason we have only their past record and past behavior as a gauge to judge them.

These speeches are written for the candidate. McCain isn’t clever enough to write a glowing speech himself.

“This Mindless, Paralysing Rancor. Must Come to an End.” (homerun)

So. is McCain saying he will stop his mindless, paralysing rancor?

If so we will listen, but as long as he acts in this mindless paralysing manner we have not choice but to reject him.

You pols are getting desperate, which can only mean McCain is starting to realize he needs conservatives.

BTW- the title quote is projection on McCains part about his own behaviour, telling himself outload he goofed in relation to conservatives.

Oh goody!

He announced he's going to include Democrats in his administration. We can only hope that'll end as well as GWB's bipartisanship and refusal to clean out the Clintonistas from places like CIA and State.

I'll be physically ill when I pull the lever for him in November.

“This Mindless Paralyzing Rancor”

Sorry, I missed the speech, did he call out the UnAmerican Democrat Party for their behavior for the last 8 years?

Because Republicans do not fit the above description.
