Like Al Gore, Clinton is seen by friends as warm, funny and empathetic. She does better in small groups and town hall-type events than in large arenas. Also like Gore, she’s motivated more by duty than most politicians. Unfriendly eyes see her determination as “entitlement.”The author actually is describing W. The last sentence applies to all of them (Gore: son of a senator, W: son of a president, HRC: wife of a president).

Misogyny runs deeper in American culture than many admit; brainy women are seen as unnatural. Is there any way that one can vote in this election cycle without being labeled a bigot of some sort???

Gene Lyons has been brown-nosing the Clintons for so long it’s second nature to him.

Right, all of the crimes charged against the clintons are false, right Gene ol’ boy? I wonder what you have to say now that Camille Paglia has raised the issue of Vince Foster’s death being suspicious? Is she part of the “vast right wing conspiracy too?”

I fear Hillary less as president than as Supreme Court Justice, which is probably what she’s now bargaining for. There are more checks and balances on a President than on a Justice.
