Yorkies tend to be rather yappy in the way many small dogs are. Westies are larger. They are smart, brave, and obedient. And they don’t shed to the extent that other dogs do. I can’t think of a nicer dog to have.

I inherited a little Yorkie from my father when he passed away. She is not yappy at all. He had another Yorkie before her and she was not yappy. Now a yappy dog is a chiwawa. The problem with the Yorkie is she is so little and gets under our feet all the time and the poor thing gets stepped on.

We also have a Lasa Apsa mix and he is the ideal size. Before these two dogs we had a Terrier mix. We thought he might have been West Morland mix, not sure but we had to put him to sleep at 19 years old. He was the best dog we ever had. Scruffy was his name.
