My family is going to stimulate our mortagage payments on our house.
Here's how I figure it:
We'll be getting about $1,500 of our own money back, which Jorge Bush wants us to run out and spend on a big screen television.
Instead, we're taking the whole amount and applying it as principal to our mortgage loan. That covers principal for about 4 months worth of payments, so we save about $6,000 in interest over the life of the loan.
That's an immediate 400% return on the money and stimulates our household economy quite nicely...
