I just don’t think I wanna check a guitar in regular luggage if I can help it.

I'm SURE you must have heard Tom Paxton's plaintive ballad, "Thank You Republic Airlines (For Breaking the Neck of My Guitar)". My favorite line, which turned out to be quite prescient, was
"There could be no satisfaction greater than if,
you should be the next to go the way of Braniff!"
