So much for the grill. I’ve got the ribs going in the oven.

Yikes, my dyslexia read that as post-recovery visit and I thought "OMG what happened to her mom?"

We're plugging along. May have just sold the Honda. Jr's still lookin' fer a new vehicle.

The SOCOM 16 is a very well made tool. BTW did you have head space issues with yours out of the box ?!?! Or were you just hawking brownells wares ........?:o)

Neither. I was just lamenting the complete fitted set of M14 armorer's gauges I swapped out some time ago. Just very neat mechanical works of art. Some of that stuff was dirt cheap ages ago, and I'd pick it up at gun shows when I was low on discretionary funds.

I still have a nice, disorganized, assortment of M1 gauges, like the rare clip timing gauge. As far as a "truck gun" goes, my Garand is a safe queen. It's a Springfield National Match, from the last lot of the last year of new-from-scratch production. After that, it was all rebuilds.

You know, it's nice to have a short, handy weapon with a great optical sight, and a round that speaks with authority. I guess that's the whole idea behind the "scout" rifle.

G'nad, let us know when your EBR is done, or when the Sig arrives, whichever comes first.

So, we’ve got this great big tv, and now we need a new dvd player. I’d like one that can take out bad language from movies, and one that I can record shows on. Right now we only have rabbit ears, but PBS had a show on the other night that I’d have liked to recorded for the kids.

Thank you...

Lisa

Well our new one (DMP BD-30K) does not record or anything. I do recommend getting on that does a decent up-convert whether you get bluray or not. I always thought the TV itself would upconvert to it's full size reasonable well... but when we got the actual Bluray player and put in a normal DVD there was a huge jump up in picture quality over letting the TV do the job. We also got a better HDMI to DVI cable (5 bucks on the internet instead of 50 from a store) and that made plugging a computer into the TV look SOOOOooooo nice.

I think it takes twice the usual caffeine to make up for no shower in the morning.

Ugh.

The email I just sent to the lawfirm at the end of our block...

“You would think with all the rain we have gotten and the mandatory water restrictions due to the flood that you would not be RUNNING YOUR DAMN AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM!!!
It was on Saturday night. Please grow a sense of civic duty and consideration and turn it off.”

Good morning everyone. :~)

~sip~

Had a nice day at the beach house yesterday... Barkley was a bit of a pain in the rear, but... once he settled down he was alright.

On the way home there was a bad wreck. Car looked like it rolled over more than once before ending up where it did.

I think it has something to do with computers because I have been sitting in front of one for a couple hours. Not sure what to do with it yet...

Yeah, it’s been going down all weekend. Iowa City crested this morning. They’ll take at least a week, probably more, to un-flood because they’ve got a huge reservoir pouring into the city.

It’s going to take ages to clean up.

Oddly enough, FEMA has yet to arrive. Amazingly, local responders are really the best people to handle these situations.
