Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well, we’re not flooded, we’re on the north suburb-y part of town. But yeah, it’s bad.
Contrary to rumors, they gots stores in Tennessee. These days, most people even wear shoes.
;-)
Yeah...
It’s second week of June already and my peas are just finally producing.
Other news.....I’m belching serious carbon here. Got a new laptop to replace my 8-year old laptop.
Now the 8-year old is in thesunroom. Now what does one person need with a 3 computer network? :)
The cops that came in and cleared the barn had nifty lights mounted on top of the barrel of their handguns... it was like a flashlight lighting up the dark, and it had a laser in the center of it.
My 8-year-old is in the den...oh that’s not what you meant...
At least you can move from room to room whilst Freeping.
Right now I’m freeping from the living room and the sunroom and have two streams of Cubs and Bluejays going at the same time.
Al Gore, eat your heart out.
‘Course now I have to go out and get better speakers.
I’ve been outside running gas powered equipment in 92 degree weather.
Too wet for gas powered equipment and I need to get some gas for said equipment.
So I’m mostly in thesunroom refinishing a piece of furniture grade plywood so I’ll have something decent to put the 8 year old on.
After a soggy spring, I don’t think we’ve had rain for two weeks now, at least.
The grass is still wet, the ground is too soggy, and we’re expecting more rain tomorrow evening. Highs next week are supposed to be in the seventies which is comfortable for people but not for the ‘maters.
Afternoon Hair, most lights/lasers are mounted under the barrel on the frame. If they had Glocks, probably a Glocklight. Newer Semi-autos seem all to have a rail on and the lights/lasers slide on and lock in place.
There’s a number of switch systems out there, some turn on at the light, others on the grip, some pulse. Lots of choices out there. It’s a lot easier than holding a flashlight in one hand and the gun in the other.
Don’t think they have a good system for our S & W revolvers though, it’s almost a semi-auto only game, and we don’t get to play if we shoot our classic revolvers. Same with classic Sig-Sauer or Colt 1911 or their clones. Still always a reason for getting another sidearm? Right?
heh, can’t believe you said ‘gas’ powered equipment. Well, we’ll soon be joining you, getting a ‘gas’ powered lawn mower, the electric is giving up the ghost.
lol - that was great. LSA
I ain’t wearin’ shoes if I can help it... I’ll settle for sandals, just to be civilized. ;-)
I’m mostly worried about forgetting flight info or ID. I know I can pick up most anything else if I can bribe a ride to a store. Can’t recall what’s within walking distance of campus. Not a lot, I don’t think, but probably a drug store of some sort.
I’m more worried about the sleep situation than anything. That and the luggage on the way back. I’m still really hoping I can get away with gate checking the guitar I’ll be bringing back, but I’ve never gate checked anything before and I dunno if they’ll require exact change or what.
if i could bottle thedog, i could solve the oil crisis...
I’ve never gate checked anything either, but I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be set up to take plastic.
Ah - well it may have been on the bottom, I didn’t look that close! But it wasn’t on till they entered the barn and it was dark. I didn’t see them reach up and flip it on, but I could see it lighting up the dark, and the laser pointer right in the middle of it.
It was nifty!
