The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well, she’s not going to the same place he is, at least for the short term.

Now that I think about it, I vaguely remember Cisco wuffing and growling a bit over by the window. That must have been why.

Good for the stubborn cop!

So is that cement good for patching cracks in concrete slabs?

I would think it would work fine; might even be a little bit of overkill, which is always a good thing in repairing problems. LSA

Unless it’s wayyyy back in time, instead of way in the future. Ya never know.

See, it's this lack of curiosity of yours that makes you miss all these things. ;~)

I’m just sayin’ there’s no need to pass up opportunities when they show up in yer back yard...so to speak.

I sort of thought the structures looked like the aftermath of NYC.

I wasn’t awake! I just kinda remember it, like the last bits of a dream that you almost forget when you wake up. ;-)

Oh well. I needed the sleep. I’ll be traveling all night tonight, and then if this is anything like the last time I went to camp, I’ll get about three or four hours of sleep a night if I’m lucky...

Ah...that could be, then. I didn’t get a good look at ‘em - I mostly noted the temple type ruins.

At first I thought Stonehenge, then Rome (the coliseum), but when I looked across the water I thought NYC.

Well, we’re going on a trail ride this afternoon... you should prolly bring Cisco over after that.

Will we need to look in on the cats?

What about your fish? You want to bring him over too?

True enough, it has been a long time. So the official countdown has commenced. Surf’s Up.

It’s too cold for the beach. :)

Seriesly, we’re coming up on planting time for fall crops and I haven’t even got the summer crops going well yet.

It wouldn’t hurt to check in on them halfway through the week or so, at least to make sure their water and food is flowing the way it’s s’posed to. I could bring that out to the kitchen...though I guess if I did that, you couldn’t easily stick Cisco in the house if he got to be a nuisance, so maybe that’s a bad idea.

I’ve been wondering about the fish. I could bring him over...if that’d be OK! He’s not much trouble...except when trouble comes to him. ;-) Surprisingly, though, the cats don’t seem much interested, except that they keep wanting to drink his water. I put a book over most of the top of the jar to help with that.

OK - I don’t need to be able to put Cisco in your house, so work out whatever will work best. :~)
