Two sisters from Virginia sold their Illinois-shaped corn flake on eBay Friday night for $1,350.

"We were biting our nails all the way up to the finish, seeing what would happen," said Melissa McIntire, 23. "There's a lot of relief involved."

The winner of the auction, which lasted more than a week, is the owner of a trivia Web site who wants to add the corn flake to a traveling museum.

I’m kind of wondering if, like many of the high profile weird auctions, this one got driven up by people bidding as a joke with no intention of paying.

Well I bought it and I think I got a good deal.

I had to pay far more for the Abe Lincoln Cornflake.

It's like looking at a cloud.

I see your poodle and raise you a Santa Claus hailing Rudolph.

I want my money back.

What happens if the package, with the flake, is crushed before it gets to the bidder?

I bet those girls will never eat another bowl of corn flakes cereal with just pleasure. They’ll be checking every flake they eat!

A breakfast cereal company might do well creating flakes shaped like all the US states. Regional brands might do well too. California flakes would be redundant. :)
